Laser Welding Systems

Rofin has a wealth of expertise in laser welding both metals and plastics. Most metals and plastics can be laser welded with precision and minimal heat affected zones. This means that laser welds can be made adjacent to sensitive components. Rofin offers both turnkey solutions and simple laser sources for welding. Our systems are being used for many applications including laser welding jewellery, electronics, medical components, automotive parts and repairing injection mould tools.

Laser Marking Systems

Whether it's metal, plastic, glass, ceramic, wood or semiconductors – most materials can be marked by laser. The laser offers a flexible and permanent mark that is often the preferred way of identifying parts. Rofin laser marking systems are used widely in the electronics, automotive and medical technology sectors. Our lasers have also been used successfully in the consumer sector, laser marking SmartCards and identity cards. Alternatively our systems can be used for laser engraving and laser etching.

Laser Cutting Systems

Rofin lasers are heavily used for cutting metal and non-metal parts. Metal processing ranges from cutting complex shapes from fine tube used for coronary stents to laser flame cutting sheet steel up to 40mm thick. Our lasers are also very successful at cutting non metals including plastics and wood. The laser cutting process usually offers excellent edge quality, small heat affected zones and excellent precision, all at high speed.
