Catch up with the latest in laser technology for the jewellery workshop at Jewellery & Watch 2018 from 4-8 February at the NEC, Birmingham. Coherent | Rofin can be found in Hall 18 Stand P51, where you will have the opportunity to meet with the experts and see demonstrations of laser welding and engraving.
Coherent | Rofin has the largest market share of UK installed laser welding systems with the well-established Desktop and Performance range of powerful, reliable and efficient lasers for welding. Backed up by a UK service team and a comprehensive parts stock, Coherent | Rofin has been a consistent supplier of manual systems for laser welding of jewellery in the UK since 1995. With the latest systems there is a choice between the most compact system (Desktop) or the most powerful (Performance) which is ideal for even the toughest workshop tasks.
The Desktop laser is ideal for repair, resizing and commissions in platinum, gold or silver where the parts are hand held and positioned accurately under the microscope. Using less power than a kettle, the laser can plug into a standard 13A socket and is air cooled (with an internal sealed water cooling system) and capable of running flat out all day even in mid-summer.
For large components or bigger workshops where the laser is in demand for silver, or is shared between several users, the Performance is usually the laser of choice. The system is on wheels and free standing, with the operator seated in an ergonomic position to suit their working environment. The laser system has the capability to deliver short bursts of higher than normal power and can also run all day with minimal attention. A range of maintenance plans are available for the few items that need to be replaced annually.
Personalisation of items of jewellery and innovative designs can be achieved by shallow or deep engraving of the precious metal using the latest in laser marking systems from Coherent | Rofin. The EasyJewel 5.0 is the latest generation of laser engraving system for the jewellery workshop and features a versatile Ring Marking Module capable of holding parts for internal or external engraving or etching.
